1. Take a ride in the back of a Taxi

When arriving in a new city, it’s a good idea to take a ride in the back of a taxi, as it allows you to familiarize yourself with the surroundings and get a sense of navigating the city. So, the first thing you can do when you arrive in Medellin is take a taxi ride, hop into the back seat, and navigate through the city’s bustling streets, beautiful landscape, and vibrant neighborhoods.

We definitely recommend taking an Uber or taxi for a road tour before you start exploring other things.

2. Visit La Comuna 13

Once known for being one of the most dangerous barrios in the world, La Comuna is a must-visit and explore. It’s an extremely iconic place in Medellin. Previously, this city was completely run by Narcos and druglords. Over the years, it’s undergone some drastic changes, and right now, La Comuna 13 is one of the most vibrant areas in the city, filled with colorful street paintings and big wall murals.

3. Take a Day Trip to the town of Guatape

Guatape is a beautiful and scenic city almost two hours away from the city of Medellin. This town is situated on the shores of an artificial lake. It’s a great place if you want to escape the big city and immerse yourself in nature. El Peñón de Guatapé, a.k.a Guatape Rock, is one of the main attractions here. You can climb the 675 steps for a breathtaking view of the Peñol reservoir.

4. Visit Parque Arvi

8. And importantly, don’t use Tinder. It has become a serious issue here in Medellin.
